The 18th century muses who first inspired the concept of Skirting the Rules were part of the Bluestocking salon culture that united women and ideas. In this same spirit, Skirting the Rules’ co-founders Deborah Burns and Francis Cholle have come together with French lingerie brand Chantelle to create a series of modern-day salons called the “Art of Being,” aimed at helping women transform the world through who we are as much as through what we do. As Chantelle US President Sonja Winther says, “Doing is finite, but being is infinite.”
Limited to 12 trailblazing women, the salons share inspirational stories from muses of the past, study them through the lens of our innovative tool called The Skirting Compass, and reveal to attendees how to better tap into their BEing energy in their own unique way.
The premier salon kicked off on May 24, 2016 at the Chantelle headquarters in Manhattan. It brought together modern muses who are defying convention. Our growing list of salon community members are tapping into the power of community to reach their goals and make positive change happen.
